“Królewskie” is a brand with great Warsaw roots. Since 2017, we have been cooperating with the agency Twin.digital.collective, which is responsible for digital campaigns of the brand. This year, together with Twin, we implemented the WEB AR campaign, which has been nominated in the Mobile Trends 2019 competition.

Our aim was to create a page with animation based on AR technology, which will show the history of Warsaw's districts in augmented reality.

Królewskie produced a limited edition of beer with special labels. The collection consisted of 18 labels –- each representing a different district, its symbols, outline, and name.

The main challenge was to put AR into the mobile browser – until now, AR effects were only available after downloading and installing dedicated mobile apps. This was a big barrier to marketing campaigns because it required too many user steps and too much involvement.

In this implementation, we used the proprietary Web AR engine which was created from scratch by our team.

 

During the process, we also faced some challenges with the curvature of the bottle, the reflection of light by the label (made it difficult to scan markers). 

 

The action was carried out in April 2019.
